Large Family Garden
About the project:
🌿 Modern Formal Garden, Solihull
A contemporary garden with classical structure and modern warmth
Designed to bring clarity, order and calm to a long suburban plot, this garden blends geometric formality with soft natural planting. A series of strong sightlines lead the eye through the space — from the house terrace to a sculptural focal point, and beyond to a secluded seating area framed by timber screens.
Porcelain and sandstone paving create a contemporary material palette, while sweeping lawns and curved stepping-stone paths add movement and balance. Structural planting of evergreen domes and clipped hedging provides year-round form, underplanted with drifts of lavender, geranium, sedum, verbena and ornamental grasses for texture and seasonal change.
In the evening, discreet garden lighting and a firepit terrace create a tranquil atmosphere for entertaining or quiet reflection. The result is a garden that feels structured yet soft, modern yet timeless — a restorative outdoor space that unfolds gradually with every step.
